When and where does the church meet?
Our church meets every Sunday at 11:00am for our Sunday Service.
We meet at:
Southend Evangelical Church
Southend on Sea
What should I expect when I visit the church?
You will receive a warm welcome from our welcome team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you where you need to go.
Our Sunday service starts with worship with our whole church family, when there will be singing, prayer and a children’s message. At this point the children will leave for their own Sunday school. The bible will then be read and our Minister or one of our leaders, or guest speakers will preach from God’s word. The service usually finishes around 12 o’clock.
We take communion (bread and wine in remembrance) every second Sunday of the month.
Here at SEC we like to have fellowship, which always means food! So the last Sunday in every month we stay behind and have tea and biscuits, and once a quarter we have a soup and sandwich lunch, with cakes and biscuits as well. Fellowship offers plenty of time and opportunity to meet new people and ask more questions.
What happens to the children at church?
Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children go to their Sunday school.
Sunday school is for children 5-14 and is held as part of our worship service on Sunday morning at 11am. We have a story, and do activities/crafts based on the story. All Sunday school leaders are DBS checked. We are a small friendly group and your children are very welcome to join us.
Is there a dress code?
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your ‘normal’ clothes.
Will I have to join in?
Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?
